This self catering rental home in the hill town of Palestrina offers the right combination of comfort and quality at the perfect price. The two-bedroom home is a fantastic base for exploring the area and getting to know an authentic Italy that is full of beauty. The house is located in the upper part of town just steps from the National Archeological Museum which is located at the summit of the largest pagan temple dedicated to the goddess of fortune and which houses the famous mosaic of the Nile River. Nearby are small shops and tourist atttractions, and a ten minute walk down to the center of town leads visitors to the restaurants, shops, ATM, main cathedral and post office.
English, Italian and French are spoken here. Anyone is welcome to stay at Altavista, however persons with physical disabilities or conditions which impede mobility will not find this an appropriate place to stay. Who is this house best for? Active people who like to walk (the free parking is a one-minute walk from the house). People who like to stay in clean homes with panoramic views. People who like to watch the sunset from the balcony. People who like to stay in non-touristy places and get a real feel for what Italy and Italians are truly like. Famous people have slept here (in Palestrina), because it is a place where artists, musicians, writers, photographers have come to seek inspiration for their work. Caravaggio, Michelangelo and Thomas Mann, just to name a few, all sought and found muses for their work in this small, quiet town.
The price is right. And the longer you stay, the better the price. €80 per night for short stays, €70 per night for at least 7 nights, €60 per night for at least two weeks, €50 per night for stays of at least 30 days. Minimum stay is 3 nights, maximum stay is 3 months. Payment can be made by cash or credit card and will be expected upon arrival. The price includes a welcome gift, supply of bed and bath linens, final cleaning (cleaning and linen change once a week for longer stays), free wifi, utilities. The price does not include meals or firewood.
What’s inside the house? A fully equipped kitchen with oven, stove, dish washer, clothes washer, large fridge, plates, pots, balcony with view, living room with fireplace, library of books, guide books, TV, DVD player, stereo, games and toys for the little ones, upstairs two bedrooms and a bathroom. Heating in the winter and fans in the summer.
